I have been too busy to change my oil (amsoil 5 30 hd) and was doing 7500mile intervals. now at 8000miles and ready to change it but have to order it. My father had a heart attack in spokane last night (1800 miles one way). If I went to cummins or a local truck stop, can I change to the cummins synthetic and then go back to amsoil at next service? I would rather drive than fly so I hav a vehicle when I arrive and don't have to worry about getting bumped from flights. you can post here - or e-mail me @ -- email address removed -- all lower case. Thankyou. Dennis

Gp ahead and go!

Newf... . I wouldn't worry about the oil until you got back! Just check level and you should be fine. Sorry about your Dad.

Thanks. I may just have to do that. I have a call on the Cummins Emergency number and they are paging someone to see if they have what I need i. e. Filter and synthetic oil. We'll see.

Hey you will be more than fine with the amsoil dont sweat it youre family is more important by the way amsoil rec. 10000mile interval changes sorry about the bad news. Merry Christmas

oil change

The previous posters have already said what I am going to say. Sorry about your dad but don't be concerned about driving on that oil that is already in there. Just maintain the level.

Sorry to hear about your Dad. But you have nothing to worry about as far as your oil is concerned. The 5W-30 HDD is good for 25,000 miles or one year--which ever comes first--with a filter change at 12,500 using the AMSOIL filter. Don't waste your time or your money by changing it. Your dealer should have given you this information.

I live in Spokane. I have the correct Oil Filter & Amsoil series 3000 5W-30 on hand for a Filter Change & Make up quart + a heated Garage. Call me when you get here & I can help you out. :)

JUST RUN IT

I purely missed an oil change at 7500 miles and went to 9200 before I snapped:rolleyes: I sample oil every other change or 15,000 miles and the results were consistant that shows running 10-12k would not be an issue concerning the soot and NOX levels. Not to make a habit of it of course.

I run the Strat filter and Delo-400 so the Amsoil will do even better I'm sure.

Have a safe trip, and best wishes with your dad. Mine had a short hospital stay a month ago in Bellingham and I was closing to making that same trip up.

A filter change and top it off would be good - otherwise just go! See cullyguy when you get there. I wish your dad and yourself the best of luck and I'm praying for both of you already! These are the hardest times. Craig

Like others have said, "Drive it like you stole it!"

Take care of the family, we do the praying while you're driving.

A friend of mine continues to remind me, "Never drive faster than your guardian angel can fly. "

Run like the wind my son,,Your ride will be fine long after you get home even,,Trust the product you use,it will not fail you,,Our thoughts are with you,,Remember, better to travel safely and not hurry than push the envelope and risk an accident,,Drive safe we're all here if you need us... ... .

Steve,

That is one of the nicest thing's I have ever heard on this board. If you ever come down to Fl, I will take you and your family to dinner, just drop me a line. This board never ceases to amaze me, you guys are the very best.

Clay:)

"cullyguy" what a nice thing to do. I also take my hat off to you. "Newf" I hope everything turns out for the best with your Dad.

Your dad will get better. I ran over 12,000 before a change with the dual-bypass filters and the anaysis said it was the same as a 7,500. Well, just a little more iron. No harm.

Good luck to you.
