I took delivery of her today for our County EMS system. Pretty plain but next week she gets dressed up with lots of stripes, lights, radios, antenna's and stuff. Finally convinced the folks that the mighty Cummins is the way to go. Will post pictures as we progress.

antennas? that would mean that you will be installing communications equipment... i'd be very interested in seeing how all of that is installed... ;)

Yes, I am curious where they are going to stuff all of that stuff as well. Antennas? Well that is what they drill holes for. Taxpayers don't mind.

Yeah... I could see myself tooling around doing Traffic enforcement in that... . No one would think its a Police car..... :D

Lawdog, you need the HO for traffic enforcement. Didn't want those paramedics to get too rambunctious so I ordered the SO.

At Niles here in Flagstaff, the center console goes bye bye for a stack rack from one of literally dozens of manufacturers or one of several generic consoles.

M16/Shotgun rack goes overhead, the light bar clamps are a little weak and we drill them, antennas are always drilled, no guts, no glory.

Scariest part to install is the spotlight through the door/window frame, really removes a chunk out of the door.

Strobe light inserts into the headlight and tailight assemblies really lights these trucks up well, and there is plenty of room for behind the grill lighting to be hidden, a stealth cop truck is easy to accomplish.

that's what i was worried about... a communications rack like that is kinda though w/a 6-speed and manual 4wd shifter... ;)

Does anyone make one specifically to replace the center seat in the 2003 Dodge? Before they butcher the thing up, I would rather look into something like that. I have seen them cobble some awful stuff together in the past. I want it done right. After all, it IS a DODGE RAM. :D

I would talk to Odyssey Automotive . They have cabinets that will fit any vehicle. They trim it up for you. I don't know if they have a template for the 03's yet but you can ask.

Here is a direct link to their cabinets and consoles.

Good luck. I already turned my 2001 into my own response vehicle. ;)

Pshhh, get real, have sawzall, will travel!:D

Odyssey makes some slick thought out items, just a bit pricey for most Vol. FD's. Generally we have the customer pull in with a powersonic from 1979 and a stack of old radios singing the blues over no mounting locations.

Gamber Johnson www.gamberjohnson.com makes a lot of useable components, but no full consoles, and many console makers seem to forget about 4WD and manual transmission's.

Otherwise we have our metal master fab everything. Diamond plate is cool:D and clashes with anything!

I have seen some Michigan DNR Rams, Gen 2 style, Where they took out the bottom of the center seat and left the armrest and storage area. they put all the light controls under the armrest... ... . I tried to get the city to buy mine for me but no go... It is already tweeked up, so I know it goes good. . then I can get MY new one... ... Instead I just get a little Jeep Cherokee Sport

Our local Sheriff's Office ordered two white Ram 1500 4X4 quad cab pickups for patrol vehicles. The trucks just came in. Normally they add some pretty good looking graphics to their vehicles, so when they are done, I'll post some photos. They obviously are not diesels, they are Hemi trucks though. The guys are pretty excited about having the legendary Hemi power. I wish they would have tried a chipped Cummins, but budgets are getting choked up with the economy, I am sure the :--) :--) commissioners :--) :--) would have just had a cow over the price of the CTD. Update

The striping has been completed. Certainly not my taste in a cap but then they didn't ask me. Still waiting for the lighting package to come in. Casey

Sorry City Ram, I already called "dibbs on the tailgate":D

Stripes look good Casey, but I have to agree with you on the cap. It needs some of those fancy SS running boards too. Oh well, after all it IS a work truck.
