Emissions in Colorado (rant)

I just got my emissions tested at Diesel Repair & Performance in Parker, CO. They charged me $60 which seemed to be the going rate, the guy doing my emissions came to the front and said that my air filter was dirty and that they would have to clean it to make it pass. They told me that either I could pay $40 to get it cleaned there or I could do it myself. I told them that I would rather just take care of it myself and they said well okay you still have to pay us the $60 for the test!!! I felt like I had completely been trapped into paying this $40... for a dirty air filter... that I KNOW was clean! Anybody know of a no-bull**** place to get emissions tested so I don't get scammed like this again?

Sorry to hear of your troubles.

I have been using Diesel's Only in Denver. In May they charged me $45. 00 for emissions. It is a tiny, no frills shop. Don't expect to sit in a fancy waiting room while you wait. For that matter, don't expect to sit (you may stick to something ).

Well, seeing that your in Parker it's quite a drive but Greeley Automotive Machine is where I always get mine done. No BS there!

I have been using Colorado Diesel Emissions in Castle Rock for the past 6 years now. They do emissions as well as performance and general repair. They have always treated me right for everything I have had them do. Get on Wolfensberger Rd headed west from I-25 turn right at Taco Bell (Caprice St) go down to the end and turn right on Caprice Court go to the end. They are the last place on the left. Talk with Tyler the owner or James the mechanic.
