Anybody have the empty axel weights on a 3'rd gen short box 3500srw with a quad cab and 4 wheel drive. I'm about to install my hitch and have to move my hitch a little back of the axle to make my tool and fuel work. The tool and fuel loaded with junk is around 500lbs.

Thanks for the reply Kennywould but the question was EMPTY weights.

That # for the gcwr is only a sugestion by dc not law as many perceive it to be. If it was law it would be on the door-jam like the gvw.

Klenger, My pc and adobe do not get along for some reason. Thanks anyways.

Mine was 4480 front and 2860 rear measured at a CAT scale when new before any mods with full fuel. Your sig does not specify if you have a short box or long box.

Mine was about the same. I weighed before and after loading my gooseneck horse trailer. I did have to buy the PopUp Hitch extender so that I could properly put the weight on the truck. I could find the weigh tickets if your needing more information. I do remember total was 15,756 for both.

No gear or horses in the LQ Horse trailer.

Sorry about that... looking at one thing reading another...

Juiced, If you are going to tow anything heavy having the hitch point behind the axle is for sure not a good idea. Will affect the balance of the truck & heavy loads will make you bouncy on rough roads (dips & humps etc). Just my experience fwiw

Check out these this site for possible solutions...

I ended up with a pullrite superglide, pricey but works nice. If you're going to have any kind of hitch weight you want it at the axle or in front of it.

Good luck

Mine was about 4500/3040 will full fuel and a few tools, ex brake, bedliner sprayed in and bigger tires/ wheels- oh yea, I was in it too at 225.
