I'm think of picking up an enclosed trailer to haul my polaris toys. I need 8' wide to get 2 machines side bye side and they are about 7' long each(1" or 2" over) so minumum length to carry 4 would be 16'? for space to tie down, mabye 18' for gas and extra stuff. Each weighs 600 to 700 lbs. I don't need the best just good, any recomendations?

I don't have a particular trailer for you just a suggestion... ... ... ... ... How tall are they ? You can make ramps and supports and stack them 2 high in a trailer with 7ft ceiling or put each on a 45 angle (front high) so you don't have to buy a 16' trailer.

Good luck

P. S

Which polaris do you have ? I'm thinking of picking up the 500HO 4wd but have second thoughts about the whole snowmobile belt drive thing... ... ... Any problems with yours so far?

TMC, i have had a polaris for about 8 years now. started out with a 250 trail boss. Never had any problems with the belt drive. my old 250 had been bored . 80 over and still never had any problems. My new ride, 400 sport is about a year old now. I've never had a belt to slip or anything like that.

I would recomend the Pace, Haulmark or Keifer-Built. I would stay away from Wells-Cargo except for light duty use and off road with 4 heavy 4-wheelers is not light duty. Stay away from steel framed they will rust bad. Get the thick floor 1" - 1 1/2" or get diamond plate. Keeps the trailer together longer. Ramp doors are going to be your best bet for loading and unloading. Here are a couple of links to people I know selling trailers that may fit your use some may require the stacking or tilted method to get it all in. http://www.wera.com/ubb/Forum4/HTML/002758.html http://www.wera.com/ubb/Forum4/HTML/002680.html

I cannot find where I put my bookmarks for new trailers. I will search for it and try to post later.

Huck, the only advice I can offer is to go to a reputable trailer lot. Home Depot sells Pace trailers here at an attractive price, but after visitng a Pace dealer I found that HD was selling the "econo" line of Pace trailers and they were really no deal at all.

TMc we've got a '99 scrambler 500 HO and a '01 sportsman 500 HO. I picked up both used but neither one has over 30 hrs yet, there are a lot of people here running polaris sleds and atv's I think they've got the belt figured out. In the " OTHER" forum I asked about polaris and got some positive feedback. My brother-in-law worked for years at Utility Trailer working on custom trailers then worked for a while at Wells Cargo, he told me some of their trailers were well built and some were not depending on the model. I guess it's buyer beware. Thanks all!
