End Links hitting my coil springs

I need help figuring out how to install a set of new Maxx Links end links on my truck. I have the 6" superlift and was going to replace the stock end links and Superlift extensions that are bent up. Problem is after following the instructions and putting the truck back on the ground the end links are against the coil springs. What am I doing wrong? I told the guy when I ordered them that I needed the links to be compatible with my 6" lift.

That is a common problem with that height kit using the oem sway bar. Give Don Thuren a shout see if he can hook you up with a sway bar like on his truck.

I just placed my order with Larry yesterday. Sent him a pic with dimensions from which he could build me a set (should arrive next week). For some time now, my passenger side link has been rubbing against my coil. I believe it is from the sway bar shifting to one side but also believe the arms are no longer symetrical with the other. I plan on repositioning after the Maxx links arrive and probably shimming the passenger swaybar bushing. Another thing you could possibly do is rotate your coil springs to keep them from rubbing.



Edit: after re-reading your post, I now realize you have the Maxx links installed and they are rubbing. Can you tell me if the overall length is approximately 10"? This is basically what I'll be receiving next week. thanks

Check the way you have the swaybar drop brackets installed, you can usually turn the brackets around and that will give you 1/2-1" clearance from the springs.

I will measure them tonight but there is no way that they are 10". I think they sent me the links for a stock truck. What sucks is after I installed them and let the truck off the jacks it bent one of the links when when it hit the spring so I am sure that I won't be able to return them. Oh well right it up to bad luck and ignorance. I have a contact for a company that custom makes end links so I will be contacting them for a set.

Sierraram,

No swaybar drop brackets used. The extended end links are supposed to reposition the sway bar without the use of drop blocks.

That does suck. I'm sure you spoke with Larry as he is the only that seemed to answer the phone when I spoke with Maxx. I would tell him to build you another set for as simple as the design is. As I mentioned earlier, i faxed him the dimensions on the superlift links (actually drew a picture too); because it was raining outside, I couldn't get exact, but, I know I was real close at 10" (+- 1/32"). Basically, I gave him overall distance, as measured from the center of the shank to top of the link (above the nut), and, the distance from the top of the link down to where the grommet landing is. Heck, if they are about to mass produce these for Chrysler, he ought to give us tdr guys a break.

You could try flipping your sway bar with the ends pointing down. You can ditch the sway bar drop brackets this way and the links will line up better.
