I havent had a hostess twinkie for at least 45 years. I figured out how bad they were for you early on.

Still, its sad to see such an American icon go bankrupt. However, it does seem appropriate that the nail on the coffin was driven in by union goons on strike.

The national chapter of Kaiser Aluminum's union also took it down, the local agreed, but the national refused. Who do you believe the workers blamed???

I belonged to cwa(communication workers of America) or better known as "can't work alone" for 32 years, closed shop so had to pay dues whether you were a member or not. I hated that my dues went to support a particular political party, but was powerless to prevent it. One month after retirement, Century Link took away all retiree's medical coverage, which was promised after completing 30 years of service... my so called "union", told me "you are retired we no longer represent you". Only the second time in 32 years I ever asked them for assistance, wish I had my "dues" back.

I lost my medical coverage in November 2011, under the current POTUS.

18,000 People out of work WAY TO GO UNION!!!!! YOU SURE SHOWED THEM A THING OR TWO. :-laf

Healthy choices did not help any but they will go away and regroup and come back as something else investors do that all the time.

Your Union Dues At Work

We can hope investors save Hostess like they did with two other iconic snacky-treat companies, Mother's and Archway cookies. I just wish they would be publicly traded instead of private inve$tment companie$.
