Hello everyone. Was wondering to wash the engine down do you take it to the car wash?Engine cold,warm,running?What parts do you cover up or avoid?How bout simple green and garden hose? Any help appreciated. Thanks

Simple Green is by far the best engine cleaner. I have used it on both my trucks, and the engine compartments have always looked like new. I do it about once a month, to keep things from building up. The best way to do it is to spray the engine first, then squirt some SG on it, let it sit for 10 mins, then hose it off. It's that easy. Be sure to do it on a warm--not hot--engine. It works best.

I use the high pressure washers at the carwash, works great. Just don't get to close to the hoses and wires
