Some months ago someone had a link to a bunch of blocks on e-bay that were for sale wondering if there might be some still around and price and block#'s. I can't find it yet. Thanks.

This guy has complete NEW engines that are pretty reasonable:

but they are ISB replacements for UPS trucks and the like. Don't know whether they'd fit your application.

Those engines are not industrial engines. They are common rail Dodge models.

Didn't know that... will they work on a 2nd gen? Will all the electronics work and will they bolt up to a 2nd gen trans? I'd be very interested if it could be done.



They seem awfully inexpensive... has anyone here purchased one of these?

Cummins is covering these 53 blocks. I just had my block replaced with the taco... all parts were free. I only had to pay labor @ that total was $1726. If your block is cracked I'd go for it.

If your still looking for a block my father has a 24v out of a 99 2whl. It had a banks kit on it. It was rebuilt by cummins at 105k because of the wonderful 53 block. It had 198k on it when a tree jumped out in front of him. Has been sitting for about two years don't know what he wants for it. Don't really know what its worth. Those engines sold on ebay by Al are common rail engines like Justin said. I purchased one from him last fall. I had never seen so many engines in one warehouse when I picked it up. It's in the worst part of Toledo, unmarked factory, entrance down the alley, single garage door and no windows. Glad I had brought my Ruger with me. Good guy to deal with, apparently they buy all of the left over engines from Dodge right off the assembly line when the model changes. However, he can't tell you this officially. Matter of fact, the chrysler symbol on each nameplate has white out on it LOL. I was even able to walk down the rows of engines and handpick the one I wanted, some were missing the APPS. They wrap them with plastic and strap a heavy box over the engine which is mounted on a palate(sp?).
