I've got about 14,000 miles on my new truck now. I've been noticing a little more power out of it. Is there any rule of thumb on when the engine should be broken in?

I've towed quite a bit with this truck (mostly loads around 10K), and I am still a little disappointed compared to my old dodge. It was a 2500 automatic, 4x4, and had a TST kit in it. It dynoed at 253hp/677ft-lbs. However, my new one does have one main advantage... it is a 6 speed :)

I keep wanting to add the TST box (something to grow into), but just can't bring myself to do it. I'm afraid it will add to spending lots more money on other stuff. Should I put some more miles on it before I do this, or does it really matter? Will Dodge know it was there, if warranty work is required?

Thanks,

Dave

10,000 miles seems to be a rule of thumb for break in but each truck and driver are diffrent. As for the TST all I can say is get it!!! If you have a little self control this box can be used for towing all day long on levels on 3/3 and less. I run mine on 5/5 all day long without a problem. My truck just dynoed at 377HP on 5/5 and 450 and 1050 TQ on 8/5 with about $1000 dollars worth of mods! 14,000 miles is plenty for the TST ( I had mine with less than 1000mi) As for warranty work Im not sure its detectable but in about 20 minutes you can pull the TST off.
