Engine Cleaning Question

I want to clean my engine using a warm water pressure washer and don’t want to mess anything up. I know not to get water in the air intake, what else should I be careful about getting water in or on within the engine compartment?

Ramin, I cleaned the engine on my '03 a few times. I would avoid the alternator, the ECM, the injection pump, and any significant wiring harnesses. I would discourage using a pressure hose, I used a garden hose with sprayer hooked up to my hot water tank.

What's an acid wash? Sounds corrosive!

It is and can cause damage in the wrong hands!

I don't know if that's a good idea, at least on a 24-valve that's a good way to quickly destroy a VP-44

The CP3 may be more tolerant, but with the super close tolerances of the HP injection pump spraying cool water on a hot pump runs the risk of shrinking the external case slightly and cause it toseize up internally.
