I have searched for the code P0191 and have not found anything. I have a 2004. 5 3500 HD Quad Cab 325/600 and was wondering what the code means? Your help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I have a Bulldog system on it right now but it's not the Bulldog 600 that just came out. I am in the process of getting that to replace the existing system. I can only use the second level since the third level makes the engine knock.

Bulldog

I'm not sure, but I thought that somebody told me that the Bulldog 600 was a remarked VA box.

Like I said, not positive, just a thought.

This is all I could find on their website to reference the box:

Bully Dog Technologies is proud to release another new product for the new Dodge Cummins 600. The Torque Dog 600 Module easily plugs in using stock connectors and has 3 horsepower settings that can be adjusted while driving. Switching from stock to the middle setting adds an additional 50hp and 100 lb-ft of torque. The high setting adds 90hp more with 200 lb-ft of torque. The Torque Dog 600 stretches the fuel pulse and is sure to add a smile to those that recently purchased the new 600 model. As with all Bully Dog modules it is designed to work in conjunction with the RFE exhausts and the RFI air intakes.

Yea, the Bullydog 042016 is the VA duration box. plugs into the ECM connector.

but TurboTerp you said yours was not the latest bullydog 600 that just came out. well, that means you don't have the VA duration box, and you are using an older Bullydog pressure box.

The Bullydog pressure box you hsve was never intended to be put on the 600, it won't work on the 600 and will probably set a fuel rail code. oh wait you already said that last part :D

as to what it means -- it means that the box is trying to pressure fool the ECM and the ECM has wised up since the 03-04 trucks and won't be fooled. The pressure box mfgs out there succesful on the 600 have had to re-do things (fool differerently). Ramifier and the VA C3. 1 pressure box are the only ones I'm aware of that work. Edge is beta testing their EZ/600, others have products in the works as well.

Thanks for the details as to why that code is being thrown. I do have the Torque Dog 600 on order and hope to have it soon. I will yank my current box off and just wait. It worked good for a while but like you said, the computer got wise:D

just WATCH OUT for high EGTS on that new box. You'll have the hottest running box on the hottest running truck around.

Bully Dog

I have installed the Torque Dog and have had great success with it. The truck just rips the pavement up. I am considering trading the Torque Dog in for the new downloader system that utilizes your OBD port inside the cab. This will keep the original system setup stored while installing the new upgrade levels. It will allow you to reset the computer before taking it into service and there are no signs of the system as with the Torque Dog.

the torque dog can be removed and there are no signs of having it, because it does not actually change anything inside the ECM. downloaders will always leave a timestamp and evidence that they have been utilized, even when you restore the stock program.
