I got a code # 1291 it talks about heated air intake,would that b the grid heater?It is on a 2001. 5. TIA 6

Yes... this DTC is set when no temperature rise is detected in the intake manifold upon cycling of the grid heaters.



Can you tell if the grid heaters workin by the normal decrease in system voltage as they cycle? If not, you'll need to troubleshoot.



If the grid heaters are operating normally, then the IAT (Intake Air Temp) sensor or battery temp sensor could be faulty. The bettery temp sensor is compared with the IAT to determine if this DTC should be set.
