another wiring question

79 chevy?

Yea, I'm almost all done. It will be running Saturday by about noon. It has been a long haul. All that's left is the vacuum hoses for the cruise control, brakes, and AC vent flaps. and fill it with fluids and put a battery on it and start cranking. If there are no leaks, I will put the front body panels back on and try and drive it. I still need to calibrate the rear axle ratio I need but that will be easy. All I have to do is pull the axle and carry over to Fort Worth Gear & Axle and let them do the regear. I'm tired and don't want to mess with that part.

The gauges are here and will go in next week after I know it will run. With it running I think I will get my energy back up and focus in again.

I only get to work on it 4 to 5 hours a day after work. It's been slow, as it's hotter-n-hell here right now. It's been every night and all weekend to get to this point. But, It'll be worth it!!!!!!

If you've go to my picture albumn you can see the progress, as I add picture as I go.

There is a lot of custom fabrication in this project. My main goal is I want it to look like it came from the factory this way.

I have some more pictures to post but I need to wait until tomorrow, I'm tired and just got in. It's time to find something to eat.

Stay tuned, as I'm going to be yelling like a little school boy with his first kiss when this thing moves under it's own power again. :)

I'd invite ya'll to come witness, but I don't know exackly when I will actually crank it for the first time. Just know it's gonna be some time Saturday. I gotta run through the wiring to make sure it's all in the right place first.

Gotta hit the hay now!!

Thanks

Thanks for the update. Maybe you could take some MPEG's of the first start and post or email to those interested. Keep up the great work and try and stay cool. As you know, it's time to stop for the day when you get tired or too hot. It is amazing what a good night rest will do to our energy levels the next day.

Yes,

It was mostly finished, and I followed him to his new home in march I think it was. Radiator hose came loose in an awkward place, so I had to tow him the last few miles. Had to be a sight. That motor home was about 17,000 lbs I think he said. sure was hard to get it started moving. Sure pushed a lot of air.

:--)

He's gonna change out the transmission for a stouter one in near future. Going with a double overdrive auto in place of 5 speed and separate Brownie.

Gonna be awesome
