engine coolant temp???

My truck used to run coolant around 180-190 i have installed a Top Gun bumper and frequently see 200-210 with no trailor, you can idle for a short period and it cools down to 180-190 range. I first thought it was my Smarty Jr. but now i'm wondering if its the bumper. I also have a Quadzilla 2 that i have not ever run since i have had my Smarty Jr, but it has a coolant reading on it as well. Can i run the quad 2 on the off position with the smarty Jr to check and see what the temperature reading is??? I know i can stack them but that is not what i want to do just simply check the coolant readingon the quad gauge.
