Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Engine Cooler or what

On the drivers side or left side of the front of the truck i have a little cooler about 8 to 10 inches wide then the big one on the right side. My question is, What is the little one for? will it hurt anything to put a cardboard cover in front of it???? tks Doc

the little one is a auto trans cooler. the other is an a/c condenser









am i correct?

Why would you put a cover over it?

i usually cover part of the condenser side with a piece of cardboard in the winter time only. aids in keeping the engine temp up in the better running range.

Yes i want to cover up the front end to heat up the truck faster this winter but i don't want to over heat the Automatic trany... . That's what i'm concerned about. Any one else got any idea's,????

Remove the fan for the winter, it helps noise and warmup times. I dont run one in the winter and it doesnt hardly get cold here.
