ok guys,heres the problem,

my truck is missing at an idle and when it levels off, but when its accelerating or decelerating it wont it runs fine just like normal. It started when i was pulling a long hill and all of the sudden it just cut out i though blown injector pump but it still runs. I replaced the crank sensor and still no good. I had the codes read and this is what they are

po0234

po236

p0238

p0252

p1690

any help would be great, im stranded away from home and have trailer full of horses

Thanks

Codes

Don't know what year your truck is but here are the codes from 99 manual: 0234=Turbo boost limit exceeded. 0236= Map sensor too high too long. 0238= Map sensor voltage too high. 0252= Not in my manual. 1690=Fuel injection CKP sensor does not agree with ECM CKP sensor. ???? The first three pertain to Manifold Absolute Pressure/boost. SorryI can't help. Bood luck. bg

sorry mine is a 99 man also, i would think that the overboost codes are from the box, but it was only on 10% when all this happened. So i am thinking that it has something to do with the 1690 code.

Thanks for the reply i really appreciate it

CKP

The CKP is crankshaft position sensor, it is located below the fuel transfer pump and between the starter and the engine, don't know if you can see it with starter in place. It is installed in the side of the block with a hold down bolt and is reading a geared wheel at the rear of the crankshaft, it sends signal to ECM with other inputs to determine fuel injector firing sequence and fuel timing, looks like a two wire connector plugged into it. Hope it is something as simple as that. bg

Thanks for the help but i replaced it earlier today and nothing. . but i was told about a throttle position sensor but i have no idea where it is and how to replace it. . They also said something about a camshaft sensor and i got a new also but i have no idea if this will help of where it goes??

thanks

Camshaft position sensor

This one is located under the injection pump, it is mounted in the rear side of the timing gear housing, one bolt holds it in place, a female hex according to the manual. The Throttlle position switch is under the black plastic cover on the top of the injection pump, it is called APPS (accelerator pedal position sensor) on our trucks, it is not servicable and must be replaced as a unit but there is a method to recalibrate it that I have read on these forums but do not remember the procedure, involves disconnecting the batteries for a period then going through some other steps. I think some of the symtoms you see when it is bad are transmission shifting and acceleration/idle problems. bg

to recalibrate the apps. disconnect the batteries for 30 min. reconnect them turn the key to the on position push the go pedal all the way to the floor and let off slowly. then start the truck hope it does the trick.

truck problems

Might be dura-scrap but don't have a problem truck because nobody knows how to fix them. Good luck on cryslurrr juck.

gm diesels are based on a gasser block sure they have made updates to patch problems. Cummings is the the only true diesel engine that was designed for just that purpose not something that started out as something else. has anyone ever herd of a ford or gm diesel going over 1,000,000 miles without a rebuild? not me. the cat that gm puts in their medium duty trucks can. the dura-max is the evolution of a gasser it was never a designed from scratch to be a diesel block. look at the 6. 3 td it was lucky to get over 100,000 before the heads cracked between the valves! common problem. thats why you can get them so cheep! gasser head on a diesel can't take the pressure. :{
