Hello,
Maybe you can help me out. I've got a stock 1997 CTD 4x4 with an automatic. Occasionally the engine will die when I turn on the air conditioner.
I live in New Mexico and the temperature has been in the mid 90's. Sometimes when I come to a stop with the AC turned on the engine will also die. The idle speed after five minute warmup is around 750 rpm. I haven't noticed any change in pulling power once throttle is advanced past idle, however if I am pulling a load and just starting to roll then let up on the throttle with AC on then the engine will die. The problem appears to be limited to idle operation. Is this a problem with timing or idle settings?
Thanks,
Glaze
