engine dies

I just joined TDR and have a question. When I get on the accelerator ,at low speeds, and then come totaly off of the gas the engine will die. It seems like it does it more when I am in 4wd low. I am pretty new to the diesel world so any help would be appreciated. The truck is a 97 2500 4x4 AT

Your idle is probably too low. It should be at least 700 with the trans in D with the AC on.

I had the same problem. Idle was too low. The only drawback is now I am at 900 rpm in N to get 750 rpm in D with a/c on. What, no a/c in the winter you say?? Ok then how about with the defroster on? Same difference.
