Another question, do you do upsweep, downsweep or steady state testing?

The Dynojet inertia dyno in it's standard form only has the ability to do an upsweep, since that's what the inertia allows. We can measure negative, but cannot induce downsweep or steady state since the dyno does not have a retarder/load cell on it. Dynojet now offers that on their smaller dynos with the 24" diameter drum, but not on the 48" drum. Too much inertia to overcome from what I hear.

They did do it for one shop though - Robert Yates Racing in NC. They have the only one. I did hear from their dyno operator that it's for sale though.

In regards to consistency or repeatability, I doubt anyone would question the Dynojet unit. It is as simple as it gets, with no operator adjustments for the load. This means that every time you pull a truck on, the load is exactly the same. Same yard stick gives great consistency and repeatability.

This should be good!!!

Correction standards "would" be applicable between Chassis and Engine dyno's "IF" the same parameters were monitored. You and I both know that this is not the case. Shoot, I had to hook up a fluke Multimeter just to get post charge air cooler temp in order to see just how close calculated density ratio was to actual because the dyno was unable to gather this info.

FYI, you will not be able to tell anyine here anything they don't already know!!! and if you try, all you will do is :-{}

Just admit that Diesel (lack of) Performance is completely hilljack, and stick to what you know... . Trying to educate a Hilljack is a complete waste of time (been there done that).

However, I would love to read what you want to share with us!!!!

Most Diesel Shops cant even comprehend the info on compressor map.

now where is that little Popcorn eating Smiley?

Who exactly are the hilljacks? Oh thats right, they are the ones holding the 1000hp dyno sheet on the lowest reading dyno in the country. lol... you guys are funny.

umm I think you missed the point

Imagine how much power they "could" make if they actually burned all that excess carbon in the engine vs. wasting it!!!

Mr Lackman, would we have about the same numbers is the 17-20% driveline drag is subtracted. Seems to me we would have pretty close to the same numbers. That would put Greg's # in the same ballpark as what was run here.

Yea or no.

Maybe you should call Schieds and let them know of your discovery!! I am sure you must have hit on something! I mean they are only making 1000hp more hp than you, but I am sure you have got a point. Perhaps you could also inform all of the competition tractor owners. :rolleyes:
