Were some of the 5. 9's in 2006 shipped without engine heaters? I asked dealer to put a cord on the heater and the advised there was not an engine heater on this truck.

Probably gonna' need one - - if todays any indication - - its snowing now! - - - does anyone have part numbers? and where to put it

it should be there. . On the passenger side under the exhaust manifold.

It will have a rubber cover over the connections. .

My 04 came with the heater, but no cord. . Added that myself. .

My 06 came with the heater and the cord installed. .

I have heard all the engines come with the heater installed, but not all come with the cord. It is a $15-$30 item, depending upon where you get it. .

PS I live in MI and have never used mine, even up in the UP for days at a time. Couple of cycles of the grid heaters will do the trick. Check out the manual for recommendations on when to use it. .

As stated above, it should be there. Mine had heater but no cord, got mine a dealer for around $42. 00, have heard that there are places to get them for less. bg

I don't even plug in until it's 0 or colder out. I used to plug in the old 12 valve just to be nice to it but the CRD fires easily and doesn't seem to mind at all.
