I read on this site that you could find how many hours on your truck by turning on key and holding trip indicator down 6 to 10 seconds. i tried this and got nothing. does it work on an 02? Will edge ez effect it? i tried it in both positions, trip indicator and milage on truck. thank you Robert

It does not work on my 01 either. If I press the trip button first and then turn the key on it goes into a CHEC mode that tests the dash lights and all the mileage readout segments, but no hours are to be found.

thanks to all that responded... ..... i didn't think i could screw up something that simple!! too bad it would have been interesting to know thanks again robert

I live in western Ma. and bought my first CTD in 1990 and put and hour meter in it when i bought it. Over the course of 16 years and 230K it has worked out to be approx 200 hours per 6000 miles which averages out to approx 30 mph. keep in mind that this includes all engine run time which includes warmup in the winter and cool down after a hard pull. if you divide your mileage by 6000 then multiply by 200 it should get you in the ball park.

if you live on the interstates then your average mph will be higher perhaps 40 mph or more but its a place to start.
