I just finished installing II 50hp injectors in my 06. The injectors have fixed a number of things but now i have a substantial ping/knock when am below 2000rpm. This is a six speed and i notice it each gear each time i shift but not at idle or higher RPM's. It seems to disapear when the turbo is spooled above 5psi or so. I have only had this truck for 800 miles or so i don't have much for the history except that it did not knock on the old bad injectors. This morning took off the valve cover and made sure all the rocker arms were tourqed. I did not do the valve lash yet but given i did no changes to the rockers there should be no change. i am planning to check the lash tomorrow as soon as i figure out how to turn the engine to find TDC. Is the 2006 . 010 intake and . 020 exhaust?

I would not think its a fuel issue as the truck is running great at WOT and at idle, no gauges yet to see what pressures i have but does any one know why the new injectors would start this? I have searched and found quite a few people talking about a knock but given this just started after i did the install it has be caused by that.

Thanks

I have the samething with mine only in 1 2 @ low rpm's. i ve pulled the injectors twice rechecked everthing, an still the ping /rattle. with my smarty and edge it would start poping an almost backfire if i got on it w/ both chips turned more than half way up. took the edge out an runs better wast going to buy a tst pm8 but bought an AR instead... ooops any way ive got about 8k on mie still rattles a bit but not as bad as it did with both boxes.

i replaced my fca also didnt change anything, and my mileage seems to have droped also. . but still runs an puffs blk smoke so i guess thats a plus

did you try to contact II?

i'd retrace your install and retourque everything mainly connector tubes

but first check good for fuel leaks and make sure there is no fuel in the oil

to lash the valves(find tdc) you need a barring tool looks like a giant torx it turns the mtr via the flywheel through a access hole on the pass side of the mtr

I finished adjusting the lash, nothing crazy to, mainly tightened each exhuast valve to the . 020. I did contact II they mentioned to try to find the presure from the CP3. I don't have way to do this yet but i will figure something out. Its odd it only does it when the engine is fully warmed up and between 1100 and 1800 rpm befor the turbo spools.
