Define "lope"
Mine does not immediately return to idle when let off the throttle (in gear and underway). I would not call what it does a lope though

Fill in your signature so we all know what you have so we can get a better feel to help with suggestions. Bigger injectors will cause this.

If you are talking about a 50 RPM or so surge after you come off the throttle, mine does that also. Ussually surges once then goes to idle.

Mine seems to have this "lope" every once in a while when in the throttle hard. It only seems to happen to my truck when the wire tap box is on and after a strong WOT pull push in the clutch and it will kinda chug up and down ~50 rpm quickly for 3-5 seconds before smoothing out. My first VP did it and the 2nd one does the same thing. If I get back on the throttle it goes away and runs fine.

Hope this helps.
