engine losses power

Have a 05 3500 dully Auto. While pulling trailer loaded, running 55 to 65, up hill, motor suddenly starts missing, shaking, then losses all power, will idle, an start, but no power at all need help. Thank You

Pull the DTC's and post them back.



To see and codes do the following:



With the key off, cycle [key on]-[key off]-[key on]-[key off]-[key on] in 3 seconds without going to the start position. Codes prefixed with a P will display in the odometer window.

Mechanic called, said he took valve cover off #1 rocker arm assy. was laying on top of the head

Looks like valves hit #1 piston, mechanic thinks diesel smells like it has gas in it

wow - that sounded like a simple fuel filter problem at first - I guess you had a little more going on than just losing power!

got the head off almost burned a hole through the #1 piston, injectors i guess, this the second time this has happened, what injectors do you recomend, bone stock engine. Thank You
