I have a '04 two wheel drive 5. 9 235/460 auto 48re.

This morning when I left from Starbuck's, I had a slight miss at idle. When I got home I changed the fuel filter. Still has the miss.

The truck has 148,000 miles on it.

Is there something I could run through the fuel system, or is this something more serious?

Thanks for any and all input.

I would run a good fuel conditioner for a few tanks and see if it helps. I use Amsoil Diesel Concentrate every tank.

It's possible you have an injector on it's way out, monitor your oil for an increase in volume from fuel.

I had the same issue. Then a tick from the motor started to develop. I was not down any power, no smoke, just a loss of fuel economy.

It turned out to be injector #6 that was bad. Replaced under warranty which I did not guess would happen as I left the programmer on for the diagnosis.
