Lately on my 2000 CTD while driving with engine speeds between 1600 and 2000 rpm the engine has developed what feels like a miss. It feels like you lift your foot momentarily from the accelerator or you have tapped the brakes. It doesn't matter what gear your in as long as the rpm is in the above range. Sometimes it stumbles when taking off. I haven't tried it while towing, just running empty. I thought maybe the fuel filter was causing the problem and changed it at the same time I changed the oil. No difference. I unplugged the VanAaken box and boost fooler with no change. The Check Engine light has not come on, but I am about 7000 miles from the expiration of my extended warranty (92700 miles). Anyone have a clue before I take it to the dealer?

Sounds like the APPS/TPS. There has been a rash of them lately. Do a search on RECENT threads with TPS/APPS, and prepare for a couple hours of reading.

I had this exact same problem with my 02. It turned out to be the injection pump. First they replaced the lift pump, then after the 3rd time in there they replaced the injection pump. Check your codes also, I had an "injection pump timing failure" code come up.
