Problems with Geno's Billet Fuel Filter Cap

So far so good. I am keeping my fingers crossed. I have tried every level of the juice and no problems yet. I will post again if this doesn't seem to fix the problem.

So far so good. It runs great at levels including stock. Hopefully this took care of the problem. If anything changes I will let you know. Any news on your truck yet?

It ran fine for most of the day today. It did hiccup a couple times. I never felt it though, only heard it and then saw it in the fuel pres gauge. So it is indeed doing it stock, but it still won't set a code.

Man does this thing run hot stock. Dang wastegate. 1400*+ for 30secs+. Juice is going back on as soon as I can find the time. Runs 100* cooler Juiced.

I'm thinking I'm just gonna have to wait for something to blow up before I find it. It's been doing this for the better part of 6 months. It's gotten worse, but still not bad enough.

If I get energetic enough, one of these days I might drop the tank and see if I can find anything in there. That wouldn't explain the Juice amplifying it though.

I'm still in the same boat. Experience the stubble from time to time on slight acceleration, changed filters all again after just 1000 miles and no change. I'm looking for the time to drop the tank and check for garbage and install the vent kit.

One thing I have been wondering about is my FASS, I don't know if it could have anything to do with each other but for whatever reason my FASS has been running for some 20-25 seconds at start up untill it gets to presssure vs the 3-5 seconds it would run since new until about two months ago.

Almost sounds like its having a hard time pulling fuel.

That's what common sense tells me but I don't understand why I wold not see that with my low fuel pressure LED. Design is for that to come on when pressures drop to 5-6 psi and it has never come on while running the truck since I installed my FASS. I'm quite sure the LED is working because when I turn the key to the on position and let the FASS run for the 20-25 seconds it kick's off and the LED lights up, which it has done since new it's just the FASS used to only run for 3-5 seconds and kick off.

I'm a little lost on this one,

My truck has had this stumble that you guys speak of for quite some time. I have taken it to the dealer and asked for certain tests to be run such as flow tests on teh lift pump and injector flows but, the tech said it was my driveshaft angle so they did the fix on the carrier bearing. I rolled my eyes and decided it was going to be my problem to fix. I have worked with Edge to see if the problem was in the Juice but, everything tested good there too. This lift pump idea, being full of garbage, seems reasonable. My truck seems to do it worse when I am pulling my race trailer and really noticable if I am climbing a pass in the Rockies but, that is too be expected because it is working harder so a faulter would be more noticable. I have never thrown a code from it so it has remained a mystery.

I'm stuck in Albuquerque for a couple of weeks without my truck but, when I get home, I think I will remove the lift pump and clean everything out to see if I find anything. Do I dare take it to the dealer and ask them to do it with the knowledge that my problem has never gone away but, I haven't brought it back to them until now? It has been about 6 months since they saw it for this problem.

I've been running harder lately. Juice back in and set to 3-3. 1400* for over 30 seconds seems to have cleaned it out. Maybe a little miss here and there, but not as bad as before. Still not perfect, but much better.

i have kind of the same prob kind of a stumble in 1st and 2nd around 1500-2000 rpms which is hart to notice. one time i had it in 4th and was real light on throttle at around 1500 rpms i got a real bad miss but it has not done it again. it very similar to my 97 that would miss bad b/c of fuel cutting back over 2600 rpms the 3000gsk kit fixed that. ???

As you can see from the date of the original post, this has ben going on for some time. Finally going in to get things checked out the Monday after the 4th. It's gotten bad enough I have to get it fixed before something goes KABLUEY.

Dealer is thinking a "burned" injector tube, after talking to STAR last week. They're gonna do the injector return flow test and check the tubes at the same time.

Anyone else found a cure for this sort of thing?

Cattle I have installed several FASS systems and I have to say everyone I've done including my own there has been this black stuff in the tank, clogging up the in tank pick-up screen, and still in the tank at various mileages on customers trucks. This maybe an issue, I think persoanlly and someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think its part of the maching so to speak of the black plastic the tanks made of, or where the factory drills all the holes in the tank, not cleaning them out good, I dunno, but what I do know is I've installed several FASS systems with pick-up tubes in the tank and every truck I've seen has had this problem, food for thought... .....

I forgot to tell ya, get a good mechanic to go over the entire torque sequence of the fuel system and retorque everything, and exact specs! Use a digital torque wrench and check breakaway values, I have seen the injectors not torqued correctly from the factory (89 in. lbs) and making sure the injector mount is centered, and the proper steps in torque sequence are followed. I've seen dealer techs really screw up on this one, and anyone who says that exact SPECS and exact order of what to torque next on this really isn't all that critical, is a FOOL on A CR motor. THIS IS EXTERMELY IMPORTANT. Hope this helps ya, I love TDR ya always get your . 02c worth in, I'll shut-up now.

I used to get a miss or stumble arround 1100 rpms and then the P-0336 code ever sence installing the tst. This does get old after a while. After installing II 90hp injectors I have removed the tst and just run the smarty and va3. 1 with out loosing much. Truck runs like it should now.

My tank is about as close to E as I ever let it go. Maybe I should drop the tank and see what I find.

The other day I bumped the starter and let the LP run its cycle about a dozen times or more. I didn't see any movement in the FP gauge like I do when the truck misses.

Nope. The miss is still there but nowheres near as bad as it was. Hasn't been bad enough lately for me to worry about it. I've got bigger fish to fry...
