In chad's instructions he speaks of a guage. Is it just a set of feeler guages- different thickness metal plates, or is he using a dial guage of some sort?

I did change my belt, not a goodyear, but never-the-less it did stop chirping. But it had chirped since new to 120k - go figure - cheap belts from the factory...

4k miles later and still no idle problems (fingers X)

Does anyone know how long and how much play the front hub/bearing assembly can stand before flying apart inside? (4WD) My 3500 (57k) has had play on the front right for about 4k miles - it is not sloppy but there is definite movement top to bottom. My 2500, I had to replace both by 60K. ????

LOL thats funny. mines bad too on the left side and its got 57,000 on it. I do know there expensive here. $400. 00 for the unit. bearing and hub. :{

Dial indicators and feeler gauges are both used, but feelers are much more common, and easier to use & read.

Now did I miss Something? While it is comforting to be reminded that my front hubs' days are numbered:{ , My engine still also has this MISS-tery idle condition. My valves are in check, and fuel pump is fairly new.

Has Any one made any progress as to what might be the culprit to this annoying habit?

I should soon get a chance to pull in the shop and take a look, but i wonder what you should see when checking crank and cam sensors with a/c volt meter-- I doubt the manual has anything but a scope reading, but I'll be curling up with my favorite green book to do some reading to night.

Lets not forget to scrupulously check for bad wire connections.
