Hey guys,

New member here with a question. Basics... ... ... '99 QC,4x4,5spd,136K

I have noticed that at different times my engine has a MISS to it, just like a bad plug or plug wire on a gasser. It doesn't do it when it is cold and sometimes it doesn't do it when it is warmed up (after driving it).

It isn't very bad but at an idle I can feel it thru the pedals and the shifter.

I haven't had any check engine lights come on either, I am assuming that is where the "code's" show up that I am reading about in my new TDR magazine. Great reading!

In Issure 42 page 49 there is a posting by Dave Wilson about a Death Code and it talks about a MISS. Is this where mine is headed?????

Any thoughts or suggestions guys... ... ... ... ... . I don't want to kill my new Toy!

Thanks

Mine does it too!

Yep, I am with you. Mine does it too. I have heard everything from VP44 woes, to injector pop pressure being low, to clogged lines, to dirty MAP and/or IAT sensors, to no answer to it at all. Some have replaced pumps and it still occurs, some have replaced injectors and it stops, or doesn't. Some it never happened to until they put new injectors in, some stopped using additives and it cleared up, etc, etc. I started to use some additives to rule out some variables. Next will be cleaning my MAP and IAT sensors and replacing if necessary. I thought it could be due to my FMS box but it started when my truck was completely stock (engine mod wise).

My best bet to find possibilities was to do a search on "lopey" or "loping idle".

Hope you find a cure!

Nick
