After 200K of normal use... what condition should the motor mounts in the 1st gens be in? Do they ever "go bad" or wear out? They look pretty stout... but so it the torque of the Cummins.

I'd love to put the truck on a test stand and torque it up so I can look at things under load.

I've no reason to think mine are bad... just curious as I was power washing the frame this weekend.

I replaced the engine and transmission mounts on my truck at 233,000 miles. There was no signs of damage, but pulled them during cleaning and POR15 of the frame. When I got the mounts out I found that they were cracked really bad. I can tell that after replacing the mounts the engine/transmission don't move that much now and some of the vibration is gone that was there before.

Thanks

Why Not (Chris)

Well today I pulled the engine out of the 89 donor truck and the left mount was broken. Odometer shows a little over 100K, supposedly it's accurate according to the PO.

I have one that lets the engine shift in its cradle quite a bit. I need to replace them, but it's still under the hood, so I can live with it for now.
