Has anyone been able to reduce the engine noise heard inside the cab? I have a 2002 HO six speed 2 wheel drive. all stock as of now. Some changes to be made soon.

It can be done, but requires either to remove the dash or the engine or both, to soundproof the firewall. Haven't got that far myself, but it is on my to-do list for next year... :eek:

The 2nd gen HO models were the loudest the Cummins ever got. I know, I own one. And the hood blanket came off long ago. And I have a Smarty with increased timing which makes it louder.

Below is the link to "Advanced Thermal Products", a TDR website sponsor. They make a kit specifically for Dodge Ram Cummins trucks.

The ATP kit is nice, I have one on my '02; but it is not exactly cheap either. I will be putting one on the '01, but only once I have the oil leaks taken care of. It seems that as soon as I fix one, another one pops up somewhere else... :{

Thank You very much for steering me to Advanced Thermal Products. That is just what I was hopeing for. I will contact them monday morning. Thanks again to all who answered.

There's been quite a few threads on sound insulation on the TDR. Including removal of the seats/carpet/door panels to increase/add sound deadening material. I did some of this on my 96'. Made a nice difference. Try search.
