Engine Oil Capacity

I have been unable to locate the exact Oil Capacity of the Cummings Diesel, 24 valve, engine, in the Chrysler Service Manual.



I recently changed my oil, it took 11 quarts to fill it to the "full" line on the dip stick (I assume they have the correct dip stick in the truck). That includes the oil for the oil filer. I've put a couple hundred miles on the engine since then and it is still full.



For some reason, I thought someone told me the Engine had a 14 quart oil capacity.



Does anyone know the "published" oil capacity of the engine?

The 24v engine takes 11 qts total. 10 in the engine and 1 in the filter.



I believe the 14qts is the amount a 7. 3 PowerStroke takes if I am not mistaken.

My operators manual on my 01' has the capacity listed under "Checking the oil". Check you manual.

Nuff said SixPak. 11 qts with filter. Mine works out the same every time.
