There is tons of confusion about filters as of late. i will try to make things a little more clean, and simple.
LF3349 = standard element, original housing 12V only
LF3552 = microglass element (better) original housing 12V only
LF3959 = standard element, thicker housing and o'ring 12 or 24V
LF3894 = stratopore element, (best) thicker housing and o'ring 12 or 24V
MHO is to just use the LF3894 and take all the guess work out of it. It is the best filter on the market, made by a company that is owned and was established by Cummins itself to insure quality. Fleetguard is the ONLY filter company that is owned by an OEM.
Don't be fooled by the other "will fit" filters out there. In filters it is what is on the inside that counts. Just because it is the same size and spins on the same doesn't meen it IS the "same". A nice paint job and good marketing don't make a better filter.
