Need help with Transmission Rebuild Parts List

Finally got the oil changed and noticed a little difference in the filters. The old was an Amsoil EaO80 and the new is a Fleetguard Stratopore filter. The FG has 8 holes in the base, the Amsoil has 6 and 5 of the 6 are smaller. Found this interesting none the less. Sure is noce using the drain valve to change oil rather than pulling the plug.

The difference in inlet ports has been discussed in the past. The media of the Amsoil, which is a re-badged Donaldson ELF7349, has better flow properties and doesn't need the inlet size. The older EaO80's had larger holes, but that was different media.

The ELF7349/EaO80 cannot be beat for full flow filtration.

The ELF7349 is rated at 15µ @ 98.7%; whereas the LF16035 is 25µ @ 98.7%.

The ELF7349 is being phased out by the DBL7349 with the same ratings.

It also appears that Donaldson has a mid range 15µ filter, the P551018. I am not sure what the difference is, but I would guess service life is lower.

It didnt look too bad really. Has anyone ever pulled a sample for an analysis before actually changing it? I have a drain valve and that seems like an easy thing to do.
 
Its a good idea to have one done occasionally to monitor the health of the engine even if you don't plan on extended service intervals.
 
I sample my oil at least once per change. Usually at 7500 miles, drain it at a year which is about 10-12K miles.
 
I sample my oil throughout its service, and I ALWAYS sample it when I change it, just to confirm that nothing unusual has crept up in the meantime.

I run extended oil intervals on my Jeep; now through a Filtration Solutions FS-2500 (see http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=76515) and previously using the disposable MicroGreen filters.

I don't have a bypass filter on the Ram yet (I'm still looking into fuel filtration options), but I will be putting something on the truck when I start to drive it more. Right now I am waiting for my replacement bed so I don't have those big bubbles on the back end.
