I just recieved my p-7100 from Brad at Poncis and its got some scrapes and chips. I would like to paint it b4 having it installed but am not sure what I could use to get off all the grease and diesel fuel that would allow paint to stick nicely. Is high heat paint the best for this?? I just want it to look nice my engine looks really clean and the pump needs to look good too. THanks for any help.

carb cleaner works pretty good. it might take alil of the orginal paint off but since your repainting it that doesn't matter.

Go to your nearest Cummins dealer and get a 12oz spray can of Cummins Bluke p/n 3885911. High temp paint is not neccessary. This paint will match the factory block and accessories.

HEMI®Dart, are you sure the Bluke is the right color? The reason I asked is because my local Cummins guy got some for someone and they said it didn't match. He got some Cummins Titanium Black that I used on a '97 and it seems to be the correct color.

"BLUKE" is the right color for the earlier years. his is a 95 and this is right color. they went to titanium black, maybe 96 or 97. i have a 95 and its the right color.

just my penny's worth.
