Attention: TDR Forum Junkies Pertinent Facts: 98. 5 Dodge Diesel 2500, 24 valve, 5spd, 140K miles
When de-accelerating, sometimes engine rpm's drop to idle speed & throttle is unresponsive and engine light comes on. Typical situtation..... climbing a hill & on the downside after I let off the accelerator, I cannot get the engine to respond. If I go in on the clutch, I notice that the RPM drop to idle speed. The engine does not die. Within 5-10 seconds, the engine starts to respond.
Fuel filter was changed about 10K mile earlier but did not help symptoms.
I've also experimented w/the cruise control & if I hit resume when I experience the power loss, the throttle goes to floor to no avail.
No problems with accelerating...
