My truck only has 41,000 miles (completely stock) and the water pump needs replacing. Dealership is doing the work since it is under warranty. When I discovered the leak, the coolant looked more brown than I was expecting and I am wondering if there could be a larger problem I should look for (i. e. oil in the coolant possibly?). Any suggestions would be appreciated or is this normal for the coolant. I am a little concerned, not to mention #@$%! that I have issues at 41k.

see if they will flush the coolent for ya, if not, id pay to have it done just to be safe. it should have the orange stuff in it and i know it can look funky after awhile and still be ok.

I changed my coolent at just about 100K miles. The original orange coolent looked fine. Replaced the coolent with Cummins ES (I think) which is blue. Of course, my water pump started to seep 3K miles later...
