Engine quitting on launch

I never had this in my 04. 5, but on my new 06 several times I have stalled out when launching at slight throttle, it's a little embarassing if not dangerous in heavy traffic, It will launch just fine with no throttle at all, but occasionally it seems if I release the clutch too fast and the rpm's get too low it cuts the fuel off, depressing the clutch fast wont help, it wont recover, the engine just dies, restarting is no problem, it's just that when the engine decides to quit, it quits, period. . my question. . is this normal?
