What is the Engine idle supposed to be in park for a 1992 W250 with an automatic? I really need to get some manuals for this thing.

The book says to set it at something like 850rpm, but I see no reason at all to set it that high. I've set mine to about 650 - 700rpm.

I had mine set at 850 RPM - with it lower I got a lot of shaking/vibration (more than the normal Cummins shake;)) when hot and with the AC on. The shop I went to said DC issued a service bulletin relating to the higher idle speed. Since having it bumped up I haven't had a problem. :)

I think it is supposed to be 700 or so in gear, A/C on. So 750 in park should put you in the ball park. But I do stand for correction. I had mine (now Mom's) at 750 in gear, and it made the transmission THUNK when going into gear, so I dropped it a little. DOes ok now.
