my truck is a 07 6.7 chassis cab manual six speed. 240,000 miles. truck runs fine at the start of the day. after awhile it starts missing running rough. blue smoke when leaving a light. problem will go away if I sit for a while and restart it. fuel and air filter replaced.
 
no lights on dash. truck runs good on the start of the day. think im losing a injector. do they have electric coils that could fail when hot?
 
Yes they do........I suppose it depends on how touchy the PCM is as to whether or not a cel will trip. Maybe somebody in the know will comment if there has to be a dead short or completely open condition to trigger a cel.

You could take it in and have a cylinder contribution test done while it's hot.
 
Take off the tuner and see if it still happens.

Why do you say he has a tuner? The truck is a C&C model from his opening post. I do not believe that tuners were available for the C&C models trucks since they have/had different programing for their duty cycle.

Yes truck has a h & s tuner for a cab and chassis. I had the truck diagnosed. Iit needs injectors. Are the injectors hard to replace? Any special tips on changing them.
 
They aren't hard to replace, however, the PCM will have to be reprogrammed with the new fuel injectors flow coefficients. There was a past tdr magazine that covered this topic a while back.
 
replaced the injectors. exactly the same problem after warming up and maybe 30 miles something electronic fails and the engine drops cylinders or the engine goes out of time. at idle light blue smoke when leaving a traffic light. with a load on the truck the engine temp is rising over 220 degrees. no cel's. lost a week of work already. I spoke to h & s they are not very helpful.
 
the dealer changed the ecu, engine running better but not convinced, didn't install the h & s programmer yet. dealer wanted some miles on it to make sure we got the problem fixed. now the truck is displaying exhaust system needs to regen now filter 90% full. the filter is not on the truck. can I install the h &s or do I have to bring it to dealer to clear the cel? the exhaust brake was working before the ecu was changed don't work now. on start up the turbo goes into something that sounds like a vacuum sound like a jet engine and stops a few seconds later.
 
installed the h&s programmer, the truck runs good, lost my exhaust brake , went back to the dealer couldn't find why, have to bring it back,
