Should I trade my 5.9L for a 6.7L?

My dealer called DC today and they said the long term fix for our overhead code coming on for engine service is in the works right now and new TSB will be issued when fix is complete. :-laf

Good news, Cumminz! ;)

Thanks for posting it.

I have had this particular issue (yet!), ... but am pleased to note the way D/C jumps-on these bugs as soon as sufficient field-reports are in.

Very encouraging to we who have chosen to knowingly accept the "early-adopter" risk.

We expect new designs to need some tweaking.

The frequent announcing of these "fixes" is gratifying! :)

My experience has been as follows:
Prior to the 18-033-07 REV. A&B my milage was 25 MPG an since the reflash my milage is 19 MPG . Except for the Overhead Consul warning and the Mil light the truck always behaved as expected no reduction in power or any other bad behaviour.
The poor milage is a direct result of the increased fuel usage for the regen cycle.
As to the comments of having to run for 45 minutes or more to complete a regen cycle, I ran for 9000 Km stopping over night for sleeping and it was continually running in and out of regen, the entire trip. There is a real need to balance the agressive regen cycle and something which gives real fuel economy. In My Opinion as an Owner/Operator, Courier

Well today was my second day driving the truck and I headed down to the DMV to get my plates I pulled up and looked at my EGT and I was in park and it was just sitting at 700 and wouldnt cool down. So Im like well ok Im use to always waiting for my EGT to come down to at least 400 before I shut off the truck, well after about 5 minutes I got out with it still running and went over to my exhaust and put my hand down there and boy was it hot. After a few funny looks from people in front of the DMV I decided well I got things to do and cant wait for this thing to do its Regen cycle. So I turned it off and went about my day. So I am not sure what to do about cool off temps I guess it doesn't matter???

Overhead replaced today.

My overhead was replaced today and no longer have service engine message. Also had Rev. "B" computer flash done.
