When I shut down my engine, it makes a very quick squeal sound at the end. Almost like a belt is slipping. Is this normal? Any ideas what it could be? My truck is a 2001 2500.

It's the belt squeaking on a pulley. When you shut off the motor it might rock back and forth for a quick second and the belt will slip on one of the pulleys and make a nice squaking noise. Mine was accompanied by constant squeaking when running. The only way I got rid of that annoying noise was by using a gatorback belt from goodyear. Tried all brands of different belts, that's the only one that won't squeak.

Not a problem, but a big annoyance if you're like me and hate those kinds of noises. If you don't mind the noise then you don't have to do anything. I have 230k on my truck and have only had to replace the bearing for the fan pulley. Original water pump and belt tensioner so they last quite a while.
