Does anyone make a combination shutdown timer with a high idle feature? It seems like both features would tie off the same circuitry. I have only been able to find plug in high idler, but have not found a shutdown unit. I would like to find one that would shutdown the engine at a preset temp, not time. Does anyone know of someone who is making these?

Isspro makes the turbo temp monitor that does what you're looking for on the shutdown side. I know of noone that is making anything that will do both of the things you're looking for. They don't tie into the same things at all so I doubt you'll ever see it. Here's a link to an article I did on installing the TTM - http://www.dieselpage.com/art1199tm.htm .

Steve,

Is this as difficult as it looks? Also, what if I don't have a post-turbo sensor, mine is pre-turbo. Do I need to install one?

I know of a number of people who have installed one and they didn't have any problems that I know of. You can run it off of a pre-turbo pyro but it won't be as accurate for shutdown as a post turbo pyro IMO. I run both pre and post, the pre-turbo pyro is hooked up to my gauges, the post-turbo one is hooked to the TTM.

What Steve said. The probes are the cheap part of the guage or TTM, add another one. I was amazed how long mine idles to cool down.

TSM...

I did one step better than Steve. I installed second relay into empty slot inside the PDC. No diode or shutdown "switch. " If need be I can pull fuse 9 to kill the engine. The TSM was stuffed under the dash behind the climate control module.
