Going home from work yesterday the engine in my '89 W250 CTD shutdown at 65 mph. After I pulled the lead going to the fuel shut off solenoid, cleaned it and put it back on it fired right up with no grinding, kind of like you just shut it down with the key. Drove it on home and to work today with no problems.

Is the solenoid going or would it be somthing worse?

Truck has 327,000 miles on it. The injector pump and transfer pumps were replaced about 60,000 miles ago.

Thanks.

Sounds exactly like a fuel shutoff solenoid. I would replace the connectors with a solder-less one as it's been my experience that once the Dodge ones start giving you trouble they will keep doing it. Its not a major problem unless you are in heavy traffic.
