Slow day - videos, anyone?

Ever seen this?

I totally agree on the sounds of the PSD and the duramax, there is a guy on my street with a strait piped chipped duracrap, who reves the engine everytime he goes by. maybe I should tell him it sounds terrible. I was at home depot and someone was backing out with the 7. 3 psd, That thing at idle sounded like every single bearing on the front of the motor was about to puke. some don't sounds quite this bad but this one did.

i heard a Duracrap with glaspacks on it... if it wasnt for the puff of black smoke, I seriously thought it was a gasser... pathetic! I hate the sound of the PSDs, they sound terrible!

For years, I had the Dyno Room (Mustang) from a performance shop (Chuck's Speed Center) just outside the back door of my business. They did a lot of performance work on diesel pick-ups (mostly Banks systems), & the majority of those were on Ford Powerstrokes.

I went back to the Dyno room many hundreds of times & noticed that the exhaust fragrance coming from the Powerstrokes was very pungent & it would irritate (burn) your nose & eyes. Even with all the fans on, many times we were chased out of the room.

I don't ever recall that kind of irritation or the pungent smell from the many Cummins powered trucks that were run on that dyno.

There's a guy with 2001 or 2002 PSD here on base that has bull haulers stacks, I mean 6 inch bull haulers that would go on a 18 wheeler and they stick out I'd say 5 feet over the middle of the cab, he has them centered, not only does it look like ***, but sounds like ***. He only wishes he could get the sound I have.

You need to take pics so I can see what I am laughing at :)

I heard a Duramax with a straight pipe on it and I thought it was a gasser, you can't hear any turbo sound at all, only a little bit at idle. In my opinion A V8 diesel, whether its a powerstroke, 3208 Cat, Duramax, will never sound as good as in I-6.

The OTHERS just ain't right. A sewer pipe... ... LOL

Them I6 engines have this sound that others wish they had. I hear them too, running up the hill past the school and I often mistaken a RAM for an 18 wheeler. The others sound like something from a horror film, when the woman is being strangled.

I don't recall the system, but I remember seeing a video on the web of a PSD speeding off, it had an after market exhaust, I swear it sounded like the screech the raptors made in Jurassic Park, really not nice at all! All treble, no bass!

I entirely agree on the Powerstroke emulating the sound of a crapsman tool box being thrown down a flight of stairs, then the remains being tossed into a wood chipper as it idles. No matter how pretty or reliable they could get that damn Powerstroke, I could not deal with the ridiculous sound it makes. As far as the smell goes, all diesels pretty much smell horrible, but ironically I find the smell less offensive to a gasser? weird but true??? I don't know what it is that makes one diesel engine smell different from the next aside from catalyst equipment, but those 6. 0 Powerstrokes smell like an old 6. 9 engine or something fierce **yuck** I honestly can't smell my Cummins idling uless I get a face full of it from the tailpipe. The Duramax, again I don't care how quiet it is, it still sounds too much like a gasser for my taste, it doesn't even sound like a diesel in reality. I think it's good to quiet diesel engines down to the new ISB levels, but I think there is a limit to, too quiet I. e. the Duramax which has no character IMO?
