Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Engine Speed Sensor?

Just finished putting the 'KDP' out to pasture via a tab, was sticking out only about 1/32nd and was VERY tight when I tried to hammer it in some, didn't seem as though it would be coming out. Oh well, at least I can sleep well now.



Question:

I checked my engine speed sensor before removal w/ a feeler gauge. It was . 009

Is this correct?

I thought I read elsewhere that the gap between the sensor and the harmonic balancer was between . 049-. 051

I have read both . 030 and . 050. Mine is now at . 030 and is working fine.

You are correct, the gap is . 049-. 051 with a non magnetic feeler gauge.
