engine has stalled 4-5 times in the last 2 weeks ever since i installed new inj's in my '01.

happened a few times going from reverse to drive and coasting in drive to a stop light etc.

both situations are with no throttle applied and with my foot on the brake.

idle's fine.

doesn't stumble or idle rough before it shuts down.

happens with the powermax on or off.

any ideas????

If you've installed shower heads(BD IV or V or DD 3 or SM) get the high idle reflash, will solve your stalling problem. But then again getting the reflash to take might be another!

Actually its the cold weather reflash that seems to help with stalling. The number is 18-15-00a. Although this problem sounds a little different from normal. Usually the truck stalls when put into gear, so the coasting and stalling is a new symptom. But the stalling when going from R to D sounds normal.

I would try the reflash as it really helped my truck.

BFC,,

BD STAGE 3'S

JETPILOT,, i have had the 18-024-00(torque management) done and from what i've read is that if you're going after the 18-15-00 and already have the 18-024-00 done then no need to load the 18-15-00.

k_arts,,dont think i did,,how would i know if i did???

You'd have to take the injectors out to check them, Bill K was showing me when he put my injectors in, how easy the tubes are to destroy.

When you undo the fuel lines at the Valve cover, right inside of the cover are your tubes. I was told that you have to pull them out just a bit before taking out the old injectors (being that the tubes actually go into the injector). Then when you put the new injectors in, make sure not to over torque the fuel lines or the tubes could get tweeked.

I was told, one way to tell if the injector tubes are messed up, is that the idle would be rough. Other then that, I'm not sure, I haven't seen a set destroyed yet.

Please keep us updated with what you find.
