Engine Stumble after Hard Run

After a short hard run the engine kinda stumbles at an uneven rate. Sounds like a dragster at idle. A couple of hits on the throttle and it clears out. After the hard run I put in the clutch and let it idle. Maybe it can't recover that fast ???
Any thoughts

Some people have had ECM problems that tend to make the engine stumble on idle. Got a fuel psi gage? If it was a real hard run, and the lift pump is bad/dead, then you could have used fuel faster than it was available. Just a thought, but I would look into the ECM thing pretty hard if you know you have good fuel presure going to the injection pump.

This has nothing to do with your reply. But I would like to state how much I hate that sound I put that somewhere between a drunk who wants conversation and the sound of tires screeching towards me. Mine has done this twice. The first after a fuel filter change the second yesterday when I recharge my battiers after leaving the dome light on.

I think I will

1. Unplug the EZ
2. Change the fuel filter
3. Hope my lift pump is ok
4. Check on the ECM.

mine was doing the same thing. it is getting a pcm and a crank sensor today.

engine is not bombed.
