Morning all... Looking for help on a situation on my Ram...

Pulled my boat this wknd about 70 miles, launched it and when pulling out up the ramp the engine nearly stalled, this NEVER happens, always runs the same, very good!!

When it was time to pull the boat out, same thing, engine stumbles like it was "missing" on one cylinder, but then ran strong all the way home... no problems.

This morning very hard starting, had to pump the pedal and crank to get the engine to fire, and then it ran very rough for awhile.

Other variables - 125,000 miles on the odometer... ran home with a 1/4 tank of fuel, pumped 31 gallons into it after I got it started... original lift pump from the factory... original fuel return lines... 5000 miles on the fuel filter...

Any ideas?? Seems like I'm getting air into the fuel delivery system somehow... Thanks in advance,

Greg

31 gallons into a 35 gallon tank means that at the baot ramp (on an angle) you had maybe 7+ gallons of fuel. You could have had a fuel pickup problem and it got air into the injection lines. This will cause a "stumble" and you would have to crank and pump the pedal to get it to start.

I think you were jsut low on fuel for the 20 degree boat ramp.

Although, you're time is up for the return fuel line and supply line.

Good luck.

Full Tank Helped...

Thanks for the input Guys... No hard starting this morning with a full tank...

However, I did pick up a new lift pump and the fuel return and supply lines to install tonight.

I don't need any BS mechanical problems getting in the way of important things like salmon fishing on my days off!!!:p
